I layover some blogs that were convincingly said that make money online keyphrase is not worth competing against. They give reasons like It has been saturated by tons of websites and some even said that being on top of Google ranking for this term didn’t help in expanding their money. I am not sure if that’s one of their ‘tactical strategy’ to stop others from competing for make money online keyphrase. To me, any websites that are on top of Google ranking for the term make money online can surely make tons of money, if they are to be optimize in a right way.
Here’s why you still can make money if you are on top of Google ranking for the term make money online. According to Google Keyword tool, the phrase make money online receives approximately 673,000 search volume. That’s a huge volume, imagine you are on the first page of Google SERP for this term, and 40% of those searchers click your website or blog. That’s about 269200 organic traffic, plus direct traffic and referring sites, that is going to be huge. Click on the image for a larger view.
So, the whole point is, you still can make money online if you are competing for this keyphrase. The only provision is to be higher in the ranking so that you can get a lot of traffic. Then, work on your content quality so that those organic traffic will become regular visitors and gradually, your subscribers.
How can I make money then?
Here’s what you can do when your blog has those thousands of organic traffic.
- You can either use Performing ads or search for advertisers manually in forums to rent your 125×125 space.
- Do more than 125×125 ads, optimize your blog at maximum level, just make sure don’t overdo it. Remember to have some space for your readers.
- You can write a paid review.
- Selling links - If you love Google, don’t overdo it
- You can promote your affiliate links in your post.
Well, this make money online thing looks easy, but the truth is, it is not. You must be good in search engine optimization to be on top of make money online key phrase. But there is another option though, you can always use AdWords which is part of SEM to be on top of Google ranking, of course this require you to spend some dollars.

This is not a some sort of guarantee-list that if you are doing exactly the same thing on this list, you will be flooded with money. It is also not a scheme that will assure you that you’ll make $1000 in a minute, which I still think a BS. If you expect it to be like that, then sorry because it isn’t 
Earning money online is the same as hard as earning offline, unless you own a scam-company. If you to start making money online, this is a bunch of things that I think you should look at and know about.
- It is a good idea to start with eBay and other similar sites, as it doesn’t require a lot of technical skills to manage your own sale pages (of course you need to have this skills later on).
- It is not easy tasks if you decide to make money with blogging and selling digital product. Having a strong blog (on page and off page) is extremely a must-have asset if you want to make it big. At the same time, when your blog is a big one, spot a problem, create a product (a solution) that you think most of your niche’s followers have problem with (remember to do this when you are someone in your niche). Because trust and results is a huge selling factor.
- Should you want to start blogging on your own hosting (besides blogger and wordpress free account), be sure that your web hosting service provider is one of the best. Seek advices from webmasters. Find web hosting articles and web hosting reviews sites before deciding to buy one.
- No one is going to tell you what is the best niche to be with. So, be wisely-selective in your niche. In SEO, this can be done through keyword analysis. Choose the high volume keywords of course, this can be a little competitive, but you can always make choice. Once you pick your “gold-phrase”, be sure that you have ultimately strong knowledge in that niche.
- AdSense is the most easiest PPC ads to understand with, but to earn with them, you must be good in content writing as well as in positioning your sites all over the search engine. To be honest, I’m not doing pretty well with AdSense at the moment. Just bought the AdSense Secret from Joel Comm, and I have like hundreds of pages to read now I recommend this eBook to anyone who wants to start earning with AdSense.
- There’s a lot of other sources of income online despite blogging and AdSense. Affiliates program like MarketLeverage, Pepperjam Network, ClickBank and Commision Junction are those worth-to-try-program. Socializing yourselves in forums and other blogs can help you a lot in terms of networking and get expose.

This is my first quest when I started blogging about a year ago. Can I really make money by just ramblings about anything? I’ve got so many question circling around my head. Questions like how did AdSense works, is Yahoo part of Google, are those John Chow’s cars? What the hell is blog? How to setup a blog? These are questions that came out from my head when I looked at John Chow’s monthly income report.
This is a question that most of the people wanted to know about. Let’s get back to the question, is it possible to make money blogging? Well, the answers are yes and no, and it is all depend on what your blog is all about. If you want to make big money blogging, you’ve got to be different in all aspects. More specifically:
Blog aspects..
- Good SEO Optimized (On & Off Page)
- A lot of subscribers
- Highly Page Viewed
- Huge UV
- Content is King
Self aspects..
- Patient (HUGE)
- Braveness
- Interest
- Creativity

Sometimes, “self aspects” is much more important than SEO. John Chow’s blog is not “SEO’ly” good (though he managed to land on the first page of Google SERP way back ago). He ranked on the 5th page for “make money online” key phrase, but still he managed to get thousands of subscribers (mine is on the 18th which is technically more worse) from his braveness to be different. For those who didn’t know what Chow did, you can always check out his blog.
Being not so good in SERP doesn’t mean that he can’t get a lot of money from blogging. Instead he managed to get approximately 30,000USD monthly for just sitting in front of his computer typing things that he prefer. And this result does not come in a night, he started his blog in December 2005. With simple calculation that is 3 long years time. I mention John Chow a lot in this post, he inspired me and I learned a lot from his blog.
So, if you ask me, is it possible to make money blogging? It depends on how much longer can you wait
